Surfers "Live the Shore" By Diving into Icy Lake Michigan

Many of us know that to "Live the Shore" in the summer months is a beautiful thing. There's volleyball, snorkeling, golfing, fishing and swimming just to name a few things. However, how do you "Live the Shore" in the winter? Is the water really "just right" during Chicago's winter? Well, if you ask these surfers the answer is absolutely yes.

Welcome to Sub Zero Surfing - Despite a Winter Storm Warning and arctic temperatures, a group of surfers took to Lake Michigan before it froze over completely for the winter. Clad in wet suits that covered their heads, the brave men walked into the icy water and caught some waves. They were all smiles as they came out of the lake. Large icicles formed on their visors and beards, making for unique images captured by photographer Mike Killion.
